Transportation

Your donation helps older Bethlehem adults live independently for a longer time by assisting the Town to purchase the cars and vans that volunteers use to take older adults to:

  • Medical appointments: check-ups, exams, chemo treatments, dialysis, infusions, out-patient surgery

  • Grocery stores: Hannaford, Price Chopper, and Walmart

  • Social events & programs

Food Pantry

Your support helps us keep Bethlehem families fed. Your donation helps us:

  • Purchase food and supplies

Your donations of food and supplies go directly to the shelves of the Food Pantry located in the Bethlehem Town Hall, where volunteers and social workers work tirelessly to fill in the gaps in people’s needs.

Volunteers

Volunteers are the backbone of the programs delivered by Senior Services. Without them, we would not be as successful. We fund branded uniforms and hats that volunteers wear to help identify their role as representatives of Senior Services during the transport of all seniors. This is also an important safety measure.

Emergency Fund

On a case-by-case basis, a small portion of your donation may help us fund minimal requests from Bethlehem Senior Services social workers who have become aware of a senior resident’s emergency needs. These requests include:

  • Utility/heating bills

Scholarships

A small portion of your donation goes towards investing in high school graduates who have indicated an interest in pursuing a college degree in an aging-related field. Each year, Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. funds two $500 scholarships that are awarded to two Bethlehem Central High School graduating seniors.

Strategic plan

This plan will help guide the Bethlehem Senior Services (BSS) Department and Bethlehem Senior Projects Inc., (BSP) as we work cooperatively to implement programs and services for older adults in the Town of Bethlehem. We seek to minimize weaknesses and avoid threats while taking advantage of opportunities that enhance our programs and services.
