Bethlehem Senior Services provides information and referrals to services and programs for independently living residents of Bethlehem, age 60 and older. An “independently living resident" of the town is a person who lives in a home or apartment in the Town of Bethlehem and does not reside in an adult care facility, retirement community, skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation facility.

Bethlehem Senior Projects, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation guided by a volunteer board of directors and staffed by community volunteers.The organization raises funds for projects that support independence and community involvement for older residents and low income families of the Town of Bethlehem.

SCAMS


IRS SCAM  report by the Bethlehem Police Department.  If you receive a call from someone stating that they represent the IRS and you owe large sums of money to the IRS and you must pay the money immediately or a warrant for your arrest will be issued, this is a SCAM.

DO NOT divulge personal information over the phone and DO NOT send any money to the individuals calling.

Call your local police or the IRS at 800-829-1040 for information or to report the call.

If instructed by a stranger to meet in a parking lot and bring large amounts of cash DO NOT DO IT!  Call 911 for prompt police response.  A local woman was recently robbed of $6000.00 in a CVS parking lot.  This is called the PIGEON DROP SCAM.

SEFCU SCAM report by John Gray of Fox 23 News.  If you receive a txt message saying it is from SEFCU and your bank account is locked and you need to call a number immediately.  PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!  It is a SCAM trying to get you to put in your credit/debit card account number.

As always if you are unsure of the legitimacy of the call  you are receiving, contact your local police, and remember to not give out or even confirm any personal information that the caller may be seeking.
